Abraham Fry House residents Holda Robinson, Elaine Bristow and Christine Froom present Eddie Grinham and Holly with the blankets and food they are donating
Kind-hearted residents from a supported housing scheme have donated food and blankets to the RSPCA’s winter appeal.
For the past few months, residents from Merlin Housing Society’s Abraham Fry House in Kingswood have been busily crocheting blankets for the Bristol Dogs and Cats Home’s Winter Warmer Appeal.
Resident Christine Froom said: “Some of the residents said they wanted to learn how to crochet and had been doing really well. I suggested that we donate them to the dogs and cats home. We also collected a hamper of food and things to give to them.”
Earlier this week Eddie Grinham, General Manager of the RSPCA Bristol branch visited the scheme, along with rescued dog Holly, to receive the donation. He was joined at the scheme by pupils from Beacon Rise Primary School who entertained the residents with a series of Christmas songs.
“Everyone enjoyed the singing,” Christine added. “All the residents loved having the children here.”
