KHT have obtained a fantastic 5 year suspended possession order for one of its nuisance tenants.

Christopher Houghton, 31 of Alvina Lane in Kirkby received the order at Liverpool County Court on Thursday 9th December after being found guilty of cultivating 31 cannabis plants within his home and extracting electricity.

This means that if such behaviour by Mr Houghton continues KHT will pursue eviction.

Terry Bonner, KHT’s Operational Director of Landlord Services said:

“KHT will be totally uncompromising in our approach where activities of this type risk affecting communities negatively. We will protect our communities and support their positive development by taking the toughest action achievable where the actions the minority threaten the comfort and security of the majority.”

A 5 year order is very rare and is a superb result for KHT’s Tenancy Enforcement team and Litigation team, and shows the local community the work we are doing and KHT’s zero tolerance stance on drugs.
