Equality and Diversity Challenge Event
At Community Gateway Association (CGA), we are proud to work in and support the diverse communities in Preston. In acknowledgement of our success, the organisation has achieved the Investors in Diversity (level 2) award from the National Centre for Diversity.
The Investors in Diversity Award is much more than just a highly prized and prestigious quality mark. It recognises the approach CGA takes in managing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) effectively.
The report highlighted CGA’s commitment to EDI and commented positively about the annual Equality and Diversity ‘Challenge Event’ held this year at Preston North End football club.
The event provided an opportunity for CGA to gain feedback from the tenants and the partner organisations. Attended by over 20 partner organisations, they considered issues of how CGA can further demonstrate their commitment to equality and diversity.
In the executive summary assessor, Manila Nicholas commented: “There is a very warm and welcoming culture within CGA. Staff talked about a very caring environment where support and encouragement is always available. They are constantly reviewing their services to ensure that they are meeting the needs of the tenants.
Tenants talked about the excellent service they receive from CGA and the encouragement given by the staff to ensure that they come forward with ideas and suggestions that will improve the service.”
Diane Bellinger Chief Executive of CGA said, “I am delighted that CGA have achieved the Investors in Diversity Award. It recognises our approach to embedding equality and diversity at the heart of everything we do. As a Gateway organisation, residents have led the way in developing our services. I would like to thank everyone who took part in the assessment.”
