A recent ‘mock’ inspection of Two Rivers Housing’s key services identified significant progress for the organisation, ranking its gas servicing programme as excellent and declaring promising/excellent prospects for improvement.
With the news that registered social landlords can expect short notice inspections from the Audit Commission with only a 5 day notice period, proactive housing association Two Rivers engaged HQN consultants to undertake a week long ‘mock’ inspection of key service areas.
The 'mock' inspection, designed to be representative of a ‘real’ inspection included in-depth analysis of responsive repairs, gas servicing, empty property management including allocations and lettings and service charges processes. Other key areas which cut across the whole organization were also considered, these were how customers access our services, diversity and value for money.
Jon Coe Director of Customer Services for Two Rivers Housing said:
“We felt it was an important process to go through. This ‘mock’ inspection gave us an insight into how we are doing in these service areas compared with our last real inspection by the Audit Commission in 2007.
The Inspectors report is very positive; we have been noted for our customer focussed approach as well as our enthusiastic and positive staff. Above all we are progressing, the report concluded that our prospects for improvement are promising/excellent, which is encouraging news.”
The inspectors issued a recommendations report for all areas considered which Two Rivers can now work towards to improve monitoring, recording and delivery of services.
