Shoreline Housing Partnership has announced the appointment of Karen Rastall as its new chair.

Karen was selected after a national open recruitment exercise which sought to attract the best possible talent to the Board. As chair of the board, she joins Shoreline at a time of immense challenge for the whole housing sector at both national and local level.

On her appointment Karen said: “I am delighted to have been appointed by the Board to this very important position. The challenges facing all housing associations today are immense and I hope that I can contribute to the success of Shoreline for the direct benefit of people living in North East Lincolnshire.”

Karen established her own accountancy practise in Lincoln 23 years ago and went on to expand into offices in Gainsborough, Nottingham and London, before entering into semi-retirement in March 2009.

Karen has also enjoyed working with non-government organisations across the world and is an active supporter of a number of charities.

Karen brings a wealth of experience and skills to the position and specialises in business restructure and the maximisation of markets.

Commenting on the role Karen added: “In taking on this role I would like to pay a particular tribute to Andrew Almond-Bell as both past chair and vice-chair for the massive contribution that he has made to the development of the organisation since 2004 and I am pleased that he will continue to serve on the Board.”
