NCHA 2010 Annual Report
Despite being based on a ration book, hopefully there will be no shortage of awards when this year's Annual report is issued for Nottingham Community Housing Association.
Maintaining NCHA's reputation for ditching the dull, and hoping to build on their tally of 22 awards since 2003, this year it has adopted a theme of Prudence and Thrift to reflect the current economic climate.
Continued growth through building more homes and providing great services has seen the group's turnover increase to over £52 million in the the year 2009/10. With the continued support of the banks, customers and partners, the group is well placed to steer a path through the austere times ahead.
NCHA runs its own Direct Maintenance team which delivers high quality repairs to its 8,600 properties around the East Midlands supported by a number of dedicated local suppliers and contractors employing local labour. And their 15,000 tenants showed they were happy with customer service after a survey showed improvements in all areas.
Counting the pennies while maintaining high standards ensured that its Housing with Care and Support service remains the largest provider of supported housing in the East Midlands with over 2,300 service users.
NCHA also exceeded targets on its development programme spending over £19m instead of a projected £12million. It also commenced building on 471 homes instead of the projected 292 bringing the tally of affordable homes for people in need over the last five years to 1,400.
