TRH development in Lydney
Local housing development company, Two Rivers Developments Ltd, part of Two Rivers Housing, opened the doors to its latest affordable housing development in Lydney recently.
Working in partnership with Markey Construction, the site boasts five new family homes each equipped with solar panels and air source heat pumps to help reduce tenants’ energy use and consequentially their fuel bills.
Following the Considerate Construction Guidelines, Markey Construction have received a ‘Performance Beyond Compliance’ certificate for this development which highlights consistency in meeting and excelling targets set for 8 key areas including cleanliness, safety and environmental awareness.
The Manor Road development, which was previously a disused and abused garage site, took just eight months to complete and marks an investment of around £600,000 in the Lydney area. The Homes and Communities Agency provided around £275,000.
Vicki Wright, Head of Development and Homeownership said:
“We’re delighted with these new homes, and hope that our new tenants enjoy the benefits of reduced fuel bills as a result of the innovative technologies built in. We’re particularly proud to be working with Markey Construction on another excellent development and congratulate them for achieving recognition for their about standard approach to construction.”
Tony Markey, Markey Construction added:
“The development of homes at Lydney builds on our reputation for developing quality affordable homes. We have been recognised as achieving best practice in the development of the scheme through Considerate Construction. Similarly the standard of construction in terms of energy efficiency will lead to lower running costs for tenants. This project has been a real team effort and we can justifiably be proud of the homes that have been built.”
