One of the largest affordable housing providers in the East Midlands has just received a grant of £4,568 to provide an additional six months work experience for four of it's Future Jobs Fund staff. NCHA has worked with Job Centre Plus, Groundwork UK and the National Housing Federation to provide 16 people with work through the Future Jobs Fund scheme this year.
Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) has received the extra funding from a partnership between the National Housing Federation and the Coalfields Regeneration Trust. The four staff all live in former coalfield areas which have been designated for funding. They will continue to work in their 25 hours per week posts, paid at an annual salary of £12,800 (pro-rata). The four staff are engaged in a variety of work at NCHA including working with vulnerable adults, customer satisfaction surveys and providing financial services.
The additional six months employment will enable them to increase their employability skills, undertake further training and be in a stronger position to find a permanent post. NCHA will provide them with support to find permanent work or other development opportunities during this time.
