Lisa during her jump Lisa during her jump

More from Sanctuary Group

A Sanctuary Housing employee has overcome her fear of heights to raise money for the charity Age UK by completing a parachute jump.

Lisa Smith, who works at Sanctuary’s Queen Elizabeth Court (QEC) sheltered housing scheme in Doncaster, took the plunge by jumping 15,000 feet from a plane over Brigg Airfield.

Thanks to the support and sponsorship of friends, family, Sanctuary residents at QEC and staff, Lisa helped raise a fantastic £424 for her chosen charity.

Speaking on her achievement, Lisa said: “I have never done anything like this before but it was a fantastic experience, and despite my nerves the knowledge I was doing it for such a worthwhile cause gave me the push I needed to go for it!”
