Steve Woodcock has been appointed the new Managing Director of Russet – the largest provider of rented social housing in Tonbridge and Malling.
Part of Circle Anglia – one of the UK’s leading providers of affordable housing - Russet owns and manages over 6,700 properties in the area. Despite the harsh economic climate Russet has also built 207 new homes for local families during the past year.
Steve has worked in the sector for 17 years in a number of different roles including time at the Network Housing Group, Amicus-Horizon and Moat Housing Group.
Commenting on his new appointment, Steve said: “This is a truly exciting opportunity for me. Russet is a well established housing organisation with a team dedicated to enhancing the Life Chances of their residents. I welcome the opportunity to join them and am busy getting to grips with the challenges and opportunities which we will be facing. I’ve worked in Social Housing for many years and actually live locally myself so leading Russet with our Board is of special importance to me.
“I’m a great believer in trying to keep things simple. So in these terms I’m clear - Russet’s main purpose is to provide excellent services focussing on areas that our residents tell us matter the most. To achieve this, we need to make sure that we are listening to our tenants. From the outset these two principles – listening and delivering excellent service will be at the heart of everything we do.”
