New and unique training academy only available to organisations or practitioners who are housing providers.

The Housing Training Academy focuses solely on developing the skills necesary to make teams and lone workers safe and efficient in the sometimes difficult circumstances involving the people and places that housing provider professionals have to operate.

Later it will include very specialised law academy events for ASB housing practitioners where it has been reported that clearer direction and instruction would make ASB housing professionals more efficient.

We have conducted careful research to develop a line of high quality training events to be delivered by nationally recognised leaders in the different subject areas. These will be released on a priority basis throughout 2010 & 2011.

As part of the new cspacademy.ac.uk website, the following specialised training events mark the official launch the new and unique Housing Training Academy:

Conflict Resolution Training for Housing Providers

Due to the people and places housing providers deal with conflict and aggression are, sadly, genuine aspects that housing staff encounter on a regular basis. For this reason we have decided to launch the Housing Training Academy with a brand new course specifically tailored to Housing Providers who deal with conflict as part of their work.

These one day Conflict Resolution Training workshops are designed to ensure that housing staff recognise and understand all elements of workplace violence.  These events will be delivered in September 2010 at the following locations: London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Exeter, Cardiff and Birmingham (see below for dates)

Overview

- Delegates will be able to identify people with an aggressive nature and will receive guidance on how to prevent escalation of potential threats and situations using proven skills and techniques to effectively defuse and calm situations.

- The course also provides guidance to managers and supervisors on their legal responsibilities, implementation of risk assessments, workplace violence policies and post incident management.

- This course uses a variety of teaching tools, including scenario based learning, to enhance training using realistic situations.

Who should attend?

-Any individual who potentially may encounter any form of abuse, threatening behaviour or assaults in their job or workplace.

-Managers and Supervisors, present and aspiring, who want to develop strategies and effectively manage organisational conflict will also benefit.
