Dog Advice Day in Preston
Community Gateway Association ( CGA) working in partnership with Lancashire Constabulary, Preston City Council Dog Welfare officers, Environmental Health officers and the RSPCA are holding a number of free advice days for dog owners across the city in July
The advice days are in response to the levels of Anti Social Behaviour involving dogs and increasing levels of dog fouling across estates in Preston.
Owners can bring their dog along for a health check, have a microchip fitted free of charge, receive reduce rates for neutering whilst talking about issues that might affect them whilst looking after their pet.
Sue Roach Community Safety Manager at CGA commented, “CGA and our partners are dealing with more dog related issues across our estates than ever before.
This can be from a noise nuisance perspective, irresponsible owners who do not pick up after taking the dog for a walk up to the breeding of illegal and aggressive dogs. CGA have adopted a zero tolererance approach to large structure in gardens being used to accommodate dogs. We are hoping that we can use the advice days in a proactive way to educate owners in responsible dog ownership”
