Your Homes Newcastle customers can now access information about services any time of the day or night thanks to the introduction of a new digital interactive TV service.
The new access channel contains information about all of YHN’s main services including how to find a home and how to pay rent, as well as directing users to sections on advice and support and repairs information.
The service is found on the Looking Local portal and is linked to DirectGov, the Governments public services information service. In addition to the range of YHN and other local services, customers can also search for the most recent jobs, get the latest transport and traffic updates and access NHS Choices information.
The service is available free of charge to customers who have Sky or Virgin Media interactive TV packages. Looking Local provides an alternative way for customers that might not have access to a home computer or the internet to find out information about the services offered by YHN.
Wilf Keilty, Head of Customer Service and Improvement for Your Homes Newcastle, said: “We are delighted that YHN is in a position to launch its own digital TV service. It is very important to us as an organisation that we provide our customers with as many ways as possible to find out information about our services and communicate with us. The channel allows us an opportunity to do just that, as it ensures that customers can access information and make contact with us from the comfort of their own home using their TV remote control.”
YHN is joining a growing number of organisations using Looking Local to provide information about our services. There are a range of benefits both to the customer and the organisation including improving access and bringing efficiencies.
