Social housing fenestration specialist Total Glass has been shortlisted for two categories at the 2010 Housing Excellence Awards. The Liverpool-based PVC-U and aluminium window and door fabricator is a finalist in the Supplier of the Year and Product of the Year categories.

The newly-launched Total Glass Aluminium Security Door for use in multiple-occupancy properties is up for Product of the Year. Manufactured from heavy-gauge aluminium, this high-security, thermally-efficient and strong aluminium communal entrance door has been extremely well-received by the social housing sector.

Total Glass is currently supplying 1,500 communal doors to its established client Liverpool Mutual Homes as part of the housing association’s city-wide multi-million pound refurbishment scheme.

“We believe our unique secure door delivers on all levels for the Social Housing sector, so to win the Product of the Year category would heighten further the excitement surrounding this product,” comments Frank Deary, Total Glass Group Managing Director.

“Plus, as a finalist in last year’s Supplier of the Year category, it would of course be great to get a double win in the 2010 Housing Excellence Awards.”

Total Glass faces competition from four other firms in each category. Winners will be announced on May 12 at an awards ceremony at Manchester’s Palace Hotel.
