Coffee flowed freely at Marvillion Court as Invicta Telecare encouraged residents to create a big stir by taking part in the Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning.
The flagship Macmillan Cancer Support fundraising event last year saw over 45,000 people hold a coffee morning to help people living with cancer. Together with their friends, families and colleagues they raised an incredible £7.5 million! This year they are aiming to raise £8.5 million to help support more people living with cancer.
Part of Circle Anglia, Invicta Telecare provides the support service to 10 sheltered schemes, including Marvillion Court, and 1 extra care scheme owned by group partner Russet Homes, serving over 300 households across Tonbridge and Malling.
Residents invited friends and family to join in the fun and help raise as much money as possible. Home made marmalade, cakes and sausages rolls were on offer as well as a ‘good as new’ stall and raffle.
Vivian Corke, Invicta Telecare’s Scheme Manager at
Marvillion Court, said: “Everyone knows someone affected by
cancer and though we are a small scheme we are pleased to help by
fundraising like this and know that it makes a difference.
Activities like today are a great way for residents and the local
community to have an enjoyable time together whilst helping to make
life easier for people who are affected by cancer.”
