Basingstoke teens wow X factor judges

Basingstoke's version of the X Factor talent show is proving a runaway success at Sentinel Housing Association's Get With summer youth initiative.

So far, nine acts are heading for the finals on August 21 at Everest Community College, Basingstoke. Judges from Sentinel, Kestrel FM and Everest all said they were 'stunned' at the amazing quality of the acts in the first locally run show of its kind in the area.

More than 700 local 8-17year olds are filling their summer holidays with a range of free activities at Get With 09, from rolling their sleeves up on a Sentinel house makeover, to cooking, car mechanics, woodland skills, and indoor skiing.
