Around 300 residents and service users enjoyed an afternoon
filled with entertaining healthy living activities in the grounds
at Basted House in Borough Green.
Russet Homes own and manage over 6,600 properties within Tonbridge
& Malling and organised the afternoon together with its group
partner, Invicta Telecare, the UK’s leading independent
provider of Telecare. Both organisations share the same main office
and are part of Circle Anglia, one of the leading providers of
affordable housing in the UK.
Ivanna Roberts-Cillia, Russet Homes Interim Head of Housing, said:
“It has become a tradition each year to invite our tenants to
join us to share free fun packed activities or a great day out.
This year we decided to hold it jointly with Invicta Telecare and
its service users as we both wanted a healthy living theme. Tenants
and service users suggested the theme and have been actively
involved throughout the preparations and came up with many of the
ideas such as the mini Olympics”
Visitors enjoyed dancing and healthy living displays in the arena,
a community chef giving cookery displays on seasonal menus for
under £5, Energy Saving Trust car simulator, Skip2Bfit
demonstrations, fruit tasting, fun competitions, taking part in a
mini Olympics and so much more.
Ivanna continued: “We always have a fantastic turn out for
our popular annual event and it’s a great opportunity for our
tenants to get involved and have a fun day out with their families.
Improving people’s life chances is at the heart of both our
organisations and we hope our Healthy Living event will give
tenants and service users helpful tips and advice about how to stay
fit and well through leading a healthier lifestyle.”
