Vivian Corke, scheme manager at Marvillion Court, was thrilled
to discover she had been awarded the Billy Can award from East
Peckham Parish Council in recognition of her outstanding service in
the local community.
Invicta Telecare manages 11 sheltered housing schemes owned by
Russet Homes, including Waterside Court, providing a range of
support to vulnerable and elderly people across Tonbridge and
Malling. Both organisations are part of Circle Anglia one of the
UK’s leading providers of affordable housing.
Unbeknown to Viv a resident had nominated her for the award and she
was chosen as the Billy Can winner by a panel of judges.
Viv has always supported community activities and Marvillion
Court has been the venue for many of them giving the residents an
opportunity to meet and get involved with local people. There is
weekly lunch club for residents and Viv invites the hearing aid
service and Salvation Army to hold regular meetings at the scheme
and in her spare time has helped secure advertising to help fund
the Parish magazine. She supports residents in their fundraising
which has enabled a 15 year old girl to travel to South Africa to
support a Salvation Army school and a nine year old boy with
disabilities to buy a new wheelchair.
