Orbit First Step Sells Last Of Its Bilton Road Properties

The last of Orbit First Step’s affordable homes on Bilton Road in Rugby has now sold, with the final residents due to move into their brand new house within the next week or two.
While the majority of the two and three-bedroom properties were sold under the popular New Build HomeBuy scheme, which enables purchasers to part-buy part-rent their property, one plot heralded the launch of the brand new Rent to HomeBuy initiative. This scheme gives people the opportunity to pay a discounted rent for their home while they save up to put down a deposit on a mortgage to purchase it.
At Bilton Road, the schemes have helped 18 individuals, couples and families to finally take a step onto the property ladder, whether they were first time buyers or simply needing to move house after a change in circumstances. However, other people finding themselves in a similar situation can still take advantage of the schemes on offer from Orbit First Step as a few properties still remain for sale on their nearby Caldecott Manor development, also in Rugby.
These two and three-bedroom houses are being marketed from just £30,000 for a 25 per cent share through the New Build HomeBuy scheme; purchasers will then pay rent on the remaining share. You can, of course, buy a larger share if you are able and you can purchase additional shares in the future, if you wish, until you own the property outright, just as you would with a conventional mortgage.
Built by Persimmon Homes, the houses feature rear gardens with a shed, bathroom with over bath shower and a fitted kitchen with an oven, hob and canopy. They also include gas central heating with solar panels to assist for hot water, a downstairs cloakroom and allocated parking.
Conveniently located, just a mile from Rugby train station, two miles from the M6 and around four miles from the M1, the development offers fantastic transport links for those who need to commute to work.
Orbit First Step’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Karen Coleman said: “We’re delighted to have secured the last purchaser for our development on Bilton Road. It’s really rewarding for us to find people their dream home, particularly when they have been struggling to find something they can afford, and we wish them all the best in their new home.”
She added: “Like the properties in Bilton Road, our remaining homes in Rugby, at our Caldecott Manor development, represent exceptional value for money and are selling fast. Anyone who is interested in securing one of these properties should contact us quickly and we’ll be more than happy to provide further information and explain the New Build HomeBuy scheme in more detail.”
