Morrison Facilities Services has won a new long term repairs and maintenance contract with the London Borough of Havering.

Under the terms of the deal Morrison will repair and maintain the borough council’s property until 2013 when the contract is set to be renewed.

Morrison will provide additional specialist support for the repair staff of Homes in Havering, the ‘arms length management organisation’ (ALMO) set up to manage council houses in the London Borough of Havering on behalf of the council. As part of the contract, Homes in Havering officers and Morrison staff regularly inspect communal areas on estates to identify any problems areas that need to be improved.

Orders placed for repair works are monitored during subsequent estate inspections for completion and quality of work. Improvements are planned into environmental improvement schemes run by Homes in Havering.

Repairs and maintenance services are being delivered through Morrison’s base in Havering.

Graham Eden, chief operating officer for Morrison, said: “Morrison has had a presence in the borough since 2004. This latest contract win underpins our commitment to long-term relationships with Havering Borough Council.

“It is through these long term partnering arrangements that we can bring cutting edge hand-held technology and appointment scheduling tools to enhance the services that we deliver to our customers.”
