Mainstreaming Race Equality: using evidence to promote change in health services Conference
Tuesday 10 March 2009
Thinking health inequalities appears to have moved up the policy agenda. Several government initiatives
such as, improving GP access and increasing patient and public involvement have significant potential for
promoting race equality. But how much is race equality being embedded in current policy and practice? Is it
a core aspect of mainstream planning or still an add-on? Where there is good race equality practice, what are
the drivers and skills that make it work? And how do we evaluate its success?
This conference aims to provide delegates with a better understanding of what it means to mainstream race
equality; enable delegates to engage with evidence of what works, and what needs to change; and help them
be more able to meet the requirements of equalities duties and inspections.
Delegate rate:
statutory agencies £125
voluntary agencies £95
students and those who are unwaged £50.
There are a few bursaries for service users available on request.
