A BOSTON radio station has been handed £500 thanks to a local housing association.
Stump Radio was awarded the cash by Boston Mayflower, under the charity's Community Champions award scheme.
The scheme rewards groups and organisations in the area which perform outstanding work for the local community.
Stump Radio's Programme Controller Jason Smalley, 20, said: "The money we have received from Boston Mayflower will be going on the purchase of much needed equipment for the station.
"We will also use it for the funding of our OFCOM licence fees.
"This will allow us to continue the station's programming - and bring the community of Boston closer."
The cheque was presented live on-air during the radio station's Drive Time show, a show which featured staff and tenants of Boston Mayflower.
Mayflower's Community Development Officer Paul Kenny said: "We chose Stump Radio for an award because it presented a unique opportunity for Boston Mayflower to develop its communication with the community.
"We recognise community radio as a great opportunity to engage our communities."
