Gentoo Construction is a 'quality contractor' say residents

Gentoo Construction has been recognised for the way it involves its customers.

The Sunderland-based firm is this month celebrating after achieving the Resident Involvement Quality Mark for Contractors, developed by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS).

Dave Piggett, Managing Director of Gentoo Construction said: “Resident involvement is extremely important to us as an organisation.

"As a direct result of listening to our customers and involving them in decision making, we offer better products and services and have improved our business.

“Being awarded the quality mark is proof of how seriously we take our commitments to excellent customer service and customer liaison when improving peoples homes.”

TPAS developed the quality mark as a way of assessing the quality of resident involvement in responsive repairs, maintenance and capital works contracts.

The quality mark was awarded by Phil Morgan, Chief Executive of TPAS, at an event where organisations were invited to share good practice with other landlords and contractors.

The company went through an intensive assessment process to demonstrate that they achieved the required standards and will now hold the Quality Mark for three years.

Gentoo Construction has recently been appointed as a partner to undertake a significant part of the modernisation programme for South Tyneside Homes’ decent homes programme.

The expansion of its geographical business stretches as far north as Alnwick and as far south as Humberside and South Yorkshire.
