Walsall housing associations tackle homelessness together
Walsall’s eight housing associations have teamed up to tackle homelessness in the town.
In one of the first projects of its type in the country, they will work together to pool resources and expertise to prevent homelessness occurring in the town.
The HomeAction partnership is only one of two in the country and is being backed by the Housing Corporation as a model of Best Practice nationally.
The eight partners are Accord, BCHA, Bromford, Caldmore, Heatun, Mercian, WATMOS and WHG and will work closely with the council.
HomeAction will act as a central hub for tackling homelessness and will focus on tackling the causes, such as debt, alcohol or drug dependency and other issues, rather than just providing a
response.
