IT managed services provider, Advanced 365 (Advanced) today announces a strategic partnership with Apira, one of the UK’s leading healthcare information service consultancies. The partnership has already identified cloud computing and outsourcing as two areas which can help NHS trusts to improve IT service levels and reduce costs.
NHS trusts are currently working towards strict targets set out in the Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) initiative; the large-scale program developed by the Department of Health. The program has been designed to drive forward quality improvements in NHS care, at the same time as making up to £20 billion of efficiency savings by 2014/15.
Apira has extensive expertise in delivering and managing large scale transformational outsource programs for NHS trusts and is currently helping many of these achieve their targets. The partnership will draw on the extensive experience of Advanced in deploying technologies that improve performance while reducing costs.
Neil Cross, Managing Director, Advanced 365, comments: “We’re looking forward to working with Apira - they are highly respected leaders in their field and trusted by many senior managers in the NHS. The partnership means that NHS trusts which are working with Apira will have access to the IT managed services provided by Advanced 365 and will be able to consider options such as outsourcing IT management and migrating software applications to the cloud.”
“NHS trusts are under considerable pressure to provide high quality care despite substantially reduced budgets and we, alongside Apira, are committed to helping them utilise technology so that they are better placed to achieve their targets.”
Alan Brown, Head of IT Deployment and Management, Apira, comments: “The savings that organisations can achieve by adopting cloud technologies are considerable and we can ensure compliance with government legislation designed to safe-guard patient data, such as ensuring data is stored in UK datacentres.
“Outsourcing is another increasingly popular option for trusts that need to ensure their IT estates are expertly managed whilst simultaneously reducing spend. By working with Advanced, we can ensure that more organisations are able to benefit from outsourcing and cloud services and that IT managed services are tailored to their exact needs.” concludes Alan.
Advanced 365 is part of the Advanced Computer Software Group plc, which provides software solutions and IT support to 150 NHS trusts and 1,500 NHS, social enterprise, community interest and NFP provider organisations.
