Growing for gold

The Movember Team
Two Rivers Housing team members have brightened up a dull November by getting hairy in aid of men’s health.
Half a dirty dozen of moustachioed gringos spent the month growing their facial features to raised £120 for Movember – a campaign organised by Protstate Cancer UK and the Institute of Cancer Research to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer.
The posse had their faces shaved on Friday, much to the relief of their wives and girlfriends.
Dangerous looking but soft hearted IT expert Jamie Coull from Longhope waxed lyrical about the reaction their hairy antics had attracted.
“Cancer can be a real killer so by raising awareness and a bit of cash by getting hairy was all in a days work for our desperate bunch. Just when we were getting used to people avoiding us in the street, the razor came to the rescue to restore our clean cut image,” he said.
The gents work hard all week for the not-for-profit community organisation providing affordable homes for communities across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.
A familiar face in the Two Rivers community, Neighbourhood Housing Advisor Mike ‘Borat’ Baggett was the moustache maestro.
“The Two Rivers team are always looking for an opportunity to raise money for those who need it most, especially if it involves dressing up! Only a couple of weeks ago we raised £417 for Children in Need,” he said.
