Deanholme residents in Mile End have reached the end of their tether, dogged by a messy problem.
But Two Rivers Housing Association has come to the rescue with two specially designed dog dirt disposal bins.
Dog poop is a real worry in communities across the UK, and Deanholme is no exception.
In a recent survey many Two River's residents on the Deanholme estate put canine crap at the top of their league table of things that really annoyed them.
Neighbourhood Housing Advisor, Mike Baggett, said the community group didn't have the resources to hound each and every perpetrator of these filthy acts.
"As a not-for-profit organisation we don't have armies of hygienists on call. But we can help dog owners take responsibility for their fury friends' faeces. They have a duty to scoop it up, bag it and bin it.
"We have installed two special dog waste bins, which are now ready for action. Dog dirt isn't just unpleasant but it can be a real health risk for children in particular. It's not just a dirty deed, it is deadly serious too," he said.
