The first images of the Bollywood shoot at the University of Leicester have been released.
They show veteran actor Dharmendra in relaxed fashion with his star sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.
The family are in Leicester for the making of Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (Mad Madder Maddest 2) – a sequel to the blockbuster family franchise movie.
The crew of over 100 are using the University of Leicester as their base and have shot extensive sequences at the University’s Botanic Garden as well as in its award-winning Library. Other sequences will be shot at the city’s Museum and Art Gallery and in the county.
University spokesperson Ather Mirza who has met with the stars said: “Sunny and Bobby appear very relaxed and are keen to work with our History of Art and Film students to get to grips with the technical aspects of filmmaking.
“The photos show the actors in our halls of residence- they will literally be rubbing shoulders with the students which will no doubt be an exciting prospect for freshers and returning students.”
Sunny Deol said: “This is a fantastic campus with excellent facilities-but what is more important is that we have been made to feel very welcome here. The scenes we have shot at the University of Leicester are an integral part of the film. It is a beautiful location for what will be a fabulous family film.”
The crew will be in Leicester until November and the film release next summer.
The film is produced by YPD Films Ltd (UK) and Sunny Sounds Pvt Ltd. (Sister Concern of Vijayta Films Pvt. Ltd.)
