Saxonby appoints new commercial director to lead company’s plans for growth

Specialist affordable housing construction company Saxonby has appointed experienced industry professional Pak Wong as the company’s new commercial director.

Mr Wong holds a BSc in building management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building. Prior to joining Saxonby he was a commercial director at Bovis Homes, with responsibility for the commercial, customer care and partnership housing functions of multiple new-build schemes. Having entered the industry in 1981, he has over 30 years’ experience and is an important addition the Saxonby team as the company looks to expand in 2012.

Saxonby director Andrew Copson explains: “Given the economic climate, appointing a person with Pak’s calibre is a big decision for us. However, he is not only a ‘big hitter’ in the industry but someone whose professionalism and experience we are sure will prove to be of great benefit to Saxonby and its customers. We have a number of potential contracts not only in our native Shropshire, where we strive to support the local economy as far as possible by employing tradespeople from the area, but also throughout the Midlands region. Pak will manage these as well as seek out other opportunities and we welcome him on board.”

Commenting on his new position, Pak Wong said: “I was all set to return to another big company after leaving Bovis, but then the opportunity with Saxonby arose. Immediately impressed with the directors’ vision and future plans I realised this was the better move to make and at the right time. The company is forward thinking and modern in its approach, combining growth and success with sustainability and community.  Each of the directors carries out charitable work relating to the housing sector, which fits in perfectly with my voluntary directorship at the Moat House Charity Trust in Coventry.”
