Jonathan Selwyn – managing director of Lark Energy (www.larkenergy.co.uk) based at Bourne near Peterborough – is to speak at two major London energy conferences later this month (June 2011).

On 16 June he will be one of the speakers at The Energy & Utility Forum's Funding Renewables Conference (www.fundingrenewables.co.uk), explaining to a high-powered audience of financiers, business people and civil servants how Lark Energy has obtained financial backing to build two large solar farms. He will also outline the problems caused to the funding of such projects by the government’s recent decision to change the rules for ‘feed in tariffs’ on solar farms – the money which electricity companies must pay for renewable energy which the farms will generate.

A week later, Jonathan will be running a ‘masterclass’ at the Renewable Energy in the Public Sector conference (www.publicserviceevents.co.uk/183/renewable-energy-in-the-public-sector), this time talking about Lark Energy’s experience in working with local authorities and housing associations to provide renewable energy from photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roofs of council buildings and homes.

Jonathan said: “Invitations to speak at high-profile events such as this are very pleasing because they demonstrate that although we are a relatively new company, Lark Energy is already having an impact on a national scale.”

Lark Energy was established in 2010 as part of the Larkfleet Group (www.larkfleetgroup.co.uk) and focuses on providing PV for commercial applications. It also provides site-wide renewable energy solutions for new housing and commercial developments for the Larkfleet Group and for its partners and clients.

Jonathan Selwyn, Lark Energy’s founding managing director, has more than 17 years experience of developing strategy and devising and leading sustainable development projects for government and business, including renewable energy schemes for housing and commercial development.
