Stroma Accreditation approved in Scotland

Published by Lucy Blackwell for Stroma in Environment and also in Central Government
Stroma Accreditation has signed a Protocol Agreement with the Scottish Building Standards Agency (SBSA), enabling its accredited assessors to generate Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) throughout Scotland.
Stroma Accreditation, already a leading accreditation body in England and Wales, will now accredit energy assessors to produce EPCs for both existing domestic and non-domestic buildings and air conditioning inspections in Scotland.
Routes to accreditation via qualification or Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) are available and Stroma is also offering free top-up CPD training on Scottish regulations for all current scheme members along with free scheme membership to new entrants. The lodgement fee structure remains identical to that of England and Wales - just £30 per lodgement at NDEA levels 3, 4 and 5.
Assessors will be able to lodge through all available software programmes including the freely available iSBEM and commercially available alternatives such as IES, DesignBuilder, TAS and Hevacomp. Furthermore, all the benefits of Stroma’s existing accreditation schemes will still apply including the dedicated technical helpline for all strands of accreditation, support via the website member’s area, monthly technical updates and ongoing CPD.
