Reggie® eliminates the need for OMR/paper registers

Reggie®, one of the world’s first mobile student registration apps, can now be used for AM/PM registration. OMR/paper registers can now be a thing of the past as Reggie® writes back directly to Capita SIMS.
Reggie®, part of the Contact Group portfolio, allows teachers to take the register anytime, anywhere using their phone or tablet. Contact Group, provider of school-home communications solutions, has partnered with GSD®, the visual communication agency that created and developed Reggie®.
Automatic write back to Capita SIMS means that Reggie® is ideal for PE teachers out on the field or in the event of a fire drill. Data can be held even when the device is offline and can be transmitted when a connection is obtained.
A portrait shot of each student included on the register sits alongside their name, making it easy for teachers to identify missing children quickly and efficiently. This feature is also ideal for supply teachers potentially tricked at registration by students answering on behalf of their absent friends.
Commenting on Reggie®, Mark Smith from a secondary school in Staffordshire said: “We had been looking for a registration app for a while when we found out about Reggie®”.
“We’ve had it for three months now and it’s been invaluable for our PE teachers as they are often based in various locations such as the leisure centre, changing rooms or out on a field when they need to take a register. It is much easier for them to carry their phone or iPod, allowing them to quickly take the register wherever, and then get on with the lesson.”
“We are looking to increase the amount of users who can access Reggie® in the near future as we feel it would benefit other departments due to its simplicity and cost.”
Designed to meet Government standards of online security, Reggie® requires a secure log-on via username, password and school ID. Data transmission is fully SSL encrypted. The Reggie® app can be downloaded from the AppleStore and Google Play.
