Kier Sheffield delivers 3,000 training days in twelve months

Kier Sheffield is celebrating successful completion of almost 3,000 training days for employees working to deliver repairs and maintenance services on properties in the city between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012*
Training includes a variety of courses in subjects including health and safety legislation, compliance, and supervisory and management skills, and includes the many employees undertaking a variety of NVQs in subjects appropriate to their role.
Kier’s regional managing director for maintenance, Simon Bullen, said: “Providing on the job and classroom-based learning opportunities for our team is a high priority at Kier. With 98% of our workforce coming from the local area, we are always keen to help them develop new skills in order to be safer at work and provide a better quality service for residents.”
Kier Sheffield LLP is responsible for repairs and maintenance to around 42,000 homes managed by Sheffield Homes, as well as council municipal buildings.
