The National Fraud Authority estimates that tenancy fraud costs local authorities in the UK approximately £900 million a year, with the Audit Commission identifying at least 50,000 social homes currently being unlawfully occupied across the country.

Capita’s 2nd National Tackling Tenancy Fraud Conference, taking place in London on 31st October, provides delegates with expert advice and guidance and recent policy updates aimed at detecting and combating increasing numbers of fraud cases in the social housing sector.

The Government has confirmed its commitment to this important agenda with the launch of theDepartment for Communities and Local Government’s Social Housing Fraud consultation at the start of this year, the Local Government Fraud Strategy published in April and their backing of the Prevention of Social Housing Fraud Bill, currently making its way through Parliament.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear keynote presentations and best practice case studies addressing the most pertinent issues raised in these key policy documents, including:

• Early intervention strategies to identify and mitigate risk
• Effective procedures for auditing and investigating instances of social housing fraud
• The law surrounding prosecution and recovery of properties

Attend this crucial event to help reduce fraud in your local area, realise essential cost savings and enable you to make best use of your social housing stock, meeting the needs of your tenants.

Callcredit will also be exhibiting at this event.
