Printwaste Recycling & Shredding has teamed up with one its clients, New College Worcester, for blind and partially-sighted students, to hold a charity Shred Day this month where individuals and organisations can securely dispose of confidential documents while raising money.

Printwaste, one of the Midlands largest recycling, security shredding and waste management specialists will be using its high-security mobile shredder to destroy unwanted sensitive information at New College Worcester’s premises in Whittington Road, WR5 2JX.

From 9am to 1pm on Saturday July 21, individuals, organisations and businesses are invited to bring items such as old bank statements, bills and cheque stubs. These will be safely destroyed in seconds before donors’ eyes for just £1 per bag. Shredded material will be recycled into new paper items.

All funds raised will go towards an Allotment Project at the residential special college for blind and partially-sighted children and young people aged 11-19 years from across the country.

Printwaste Managing Director Don Robins said: “With identity theft a potential risk to all of us, it is imperative that unwanted documents containing personal data are disposed of responsibly. In providing this service for the community, we will also be helping the environment while raising funds for a good and ‘green’ cause.

“We’re hoping local people will take this opportunity to have a good clear-out and perhaps bring along larger quantities of material that home shredders often struggle with,” he added.

Anne Priestley, Fund-raising Manager commented: “We are delighted that Printwaste is helping us to raise money for this project. We need to raise £3,600 for the allotments so every £1 that can be raised towards this will be gratefully received.”

Residents of Worcester and surrounding areas are invited to bring their unwanted paper to the college where Printwaste’s mobile shredding vehicle will be sited near the entrance in the front car park. Plenty of parking will be available.

Printwaste Recycling & Shredding provides a broad range of highly-accredited specialist confidential data destruction, waste management and recycling services for businesses locally, regionally and nationally to recognised security and quality standards.
