Outstanding media coverage, partner and investor opportunities were just a few reasons why Surrey-based communications consultancy, Livewire Public Relations, (www.livewirepr.com) scooped the prestigious Best Campaign Award for its BrightSpark Education online maths tutoring campaign at the recent Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ (CIPR) PRide Awards 2011. The CIPR PRide Awards recognise excellence in PR and communications across the UK. Over the past six years, Livewire has won six CIPR PRide Awards including Best Charity or Not-for-Profit Campaign, Best Low Budget Campaign and Best Trade or Technical Campaign.

Over 240 million listeners/readers were reached in the first month alone, with coverage on BBC television, radio and online, all the top UK nationals, a range of Asian and American titles and YouTube. Within two months of launching, and as a direct result of the extensive media coverage secured by Livewire, unique visitors to BrightSpark Education’s website topped 11,000, far exceeding the initial target of 8,000 - a percentage increase of 266 per cent. Numerous investors and partners have since approached the company, most notably, TSL Education, publisher of the Times Educational Supplement, which now has a 50 per cent stake in the company, allowing BrightSpark Education to take the business to another level.

Richenda Wood, Managing Director, Livewire PR, comments: “We are thrilled to be recognised for the great value for money our BrightSpark Education campaign represented, reaching over 240 million listeners/readers and generating significant networking and investment opportunities. This recognition from this CIPR is testament to our highly committed team who take a pride in delivering a high standard of service.”

Jane Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, Chartered Institute of Public Relations, adds: “The CIPR PRide Awards represent the best, most creative and most effective public relations work across the UK and to win an award is a great achievement.”

The winners were announced on Friday 11th November at a presentation dinner, Hilton Metropole Hotel, Brighton.
