New apprentices are set to embark on an apprenticeships scheme in Fenestration/Window installation with Anglian Building Products.

Following the success of last year’s scheme, Anglian has extended the programme to offer more youngsters the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications whilst they work.

The work-based programme will deliver each apprentice with the skills and knowledge they require to undertake the role and gain vital on-site training.

A total of four new apprentices are being recruited, the first two will be working within our Project Teams at Testway Housing Association in Hampshire and Basildon Borough Council in Essex.

Each apprenticeship typically lasts between 18 months and two years with the apprentices gaining an NVQ Level 2 in Fenestration Installation and Key Skills.

Craig Lyon, Anglian’s Learning and Development Director said “It’s great that our annual intake of apprentices is growing and I am especially pleased that we are providing new opportunities within the local communities within which we work”

This announcement from Anglian coincides with the launch of National Apprenticeship Week 2011.
