Jamie Archer with TreeHouse pupil
The X Factor’s Jamie Archer took time out to spend the afternoon with children with autism at TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education which runs a school for 76 children with profound autism. Jamie took part in a drumming lesson and hung out with secondary pupils in their common room. He then performed, for the first time since leaving The X Factor, for staff and pupils at the School in north London on Thursday 19 November.
Jamie said: “This has been my first performance since leaving The X Factor and it has been absolutely fantastic!”
Jamie, 34, who has been dubbed Jamie ‘Afro’ Archer because of his hair, lost to Lloyd Daniels in a public vote following their sing-off.
This year The X Factor is being sponsored by TalkTalk, who have
been supporting TreeHouse since 2005. Earlier this year Talk Talk
provided funding for talkaboutautism.org.uk – a thriving
online community for parents and carers of children with autism to
share information and support.
