Tickets to an exclusive fundraiser featuring Brit Award winner Mark Ronson and rising star Ladyhawke are now on sale. The ‘Ambition Gig’ will raise money for TreeHouse, the national charity for autism education, and will take place at KOKO in Camden on the 04 June 2009.
The event will start with the winning act of Ambition Unsigned, a special competition which has been running since January, searching for the finest unsigned act with the support of Bugbear Bookings. This will be followed by a full set by the brilliant Ladyhawke and her band. The night will then finish with a special DJ set by Mark Ronson.
Ladyhawke commented: “I am really pleased to be doing this Ambition Gig for TreeHouse, a charity which provides and campaigns for the specialised education that young people with autism need. Autism can affect pretty much every way in which a person interacts with the world – going to a gig like this would often be impossible. The sounds, the crowds of people, the bright lights - all this can be pretty traumatic for someone with autism. But with the right education early on, children can grow up to become independent, happy individuals and I think everyone deserves that opportunity.”
Tickets cost £25 and can be purchased from ticketweb
now.
The money raised will help TreeHouse reach out to the 1 in 100
young people with autism in the UK. Young people who, without the
right education and support, aren’t able to realise anywhere
near their full potential.
