FA Cup comes to Cardiff two weeks early
The FA Cup is definitely on its way to Cardiff!
While City fans keep their fingers tightly crossed for success against Portsmouth at Wembley on May 17, the Cup is on its way here whether the Bluebirds triumph or not.
The famous trophy is coming to Cantonian High School in Fairwater as part of a day-long visit to the Welsh capital, organised by competition sponsors E.ON, ahead of the showcase final in London
later this month.
The school that produced semi-final goal-scoring hero Joe Ledley, whose ninth minute blast against Barnsley secured Cardiff's place in the final, will be welcoming the Cup on Tuesday May 6 when
pupils will be able to get up close to the most famous club trophy in world football.
The Cup will be on display during the morning assembly and pupils will all have the chance to have a memento photograph taken with the trophy.
Cantonian headteacher Lois Spargo said: "We're delighted to be hosting the FA Cup for a morning on its visit to Cardiff. There's been great excitement at the school since the team booked their
place in the final especially with local lad and former pupil Joe Ledley scoring the goal.
"We're very proud that Joe is a former pupil of Cantonian and this is a great chance for our students to see the Cup. We're all hoping that it will be on its way back to Cardiff again on May
17."
The FA Cup will also be visiting Ty Hafan and the Gol Centre on May 6.
