Summer fun for Stoke residents

Residents from across Stoke are being given the chance to improve their fitness and take part in free physical activity sessions in their local community.
Sanctuary Housing has teamed up with Stoke City Community Trust to bring exciting sports sessions to residents over the summer holidays.
Open to residents, male and female, from 16 to 25 years, the Sportivate sessions kick-off on Wednesday 20 August from 6 – 7pm and will run for six weeks until Wednesday 24 September.
The sessions will be taking place in two locations – female residents can take part in Guerrilla Training at Impact Boxing Gym, a high intensity circuit class combining resistance training with cardio, while at the same time males can enjoy recreational football at St Peter’s Academy in Fenton, Stoke.
Residents who attend all six sessions will have a further opportunity to gain access to free training and support to become either a gym instructor or football coach.
The Sportivate sessions are being launched on the back of Sanctuary’s successful Sanctuary in Sport project. Workshops will give participants the opportunity to improve physical health and wellbeing, increase their confidence and self esteem, and allow them to interact and engage with other members of the community in a positive way.
Places are limited so to book your place and avoid disappointment, or for more information about the sessions, please contact Ben Gibson at Stoke City Community Trust on 07900 780260 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
