Youngsters in Oldham Coliseum theatre
Oldham based Aksa Homes has agreed a sponsorship deal that will see them working with and supporting Oldham Coliseum over the next 12 months. The sponsorship will not only give Aksa Homes a high profile through branding, joint marketing and PR opportunities it will also give their tenants an opportunity to be involved in the theatre.
The first activity, the Charisma Project, a programme delivered through Oldham Business Leadership Group’s “Connect, Collaborate, Contribute” initiative in partnership with Oldham Coliseum, has already taken place with five Aksa Homes youngsters actively taking part.
They were taught techniques by theatre professionals aimed at improving confidence, public speaking and personal skills around interaction with others. The activity is underpinned by the writing of American author and Ivy League academic, Olivia Fox Cabane who takes an active role from her San Francisco office via Skype.
Mushtaq Khan, Director at Aksa Homes said: “To be working in partnership with Oldham Coliseum is very exciting. There is a long tradition of theatre and performance in the communities that we serve, and we hope that we can reinvigorate this as well as promoting Aksa to the wider circle of theatre-goers."
Mushtaq adds: “The major reason for our involvement with the theatre is to be able to involve our residents and their families. Many of our residents have never been inside Oldham Coliseum but over the next 12 months not only will they be able to take in a show there will be plenty of other opportunities which will be of great benefit to them."
