A housing association developer has raised over £36,000 for charity through its annual Golf event.

On Thursday 10 July, Orbit Homes held their third annual Charity Golf Day in aid of Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry. The day was the most successful to date helping to bring the total raised by Orbit Homes for Zoë’s Place to nearly £70,000 over the last three years. Over 200 representatives attended on the day from businesses across the region to support the charity.

Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice offers support and care to children aged 0-5 years who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness for which there is no reasonable cure.

Muna Chauhan, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Zoë’s Place said: “The services we provide to these children and their families costs, on average, £25 per hour per child. The money raised by Orbit Homes, and everyone involved on the day, really does have a huge impact on the care and support we can offer to these people at a time when they need it most.”

Orbit Homes’ Head of Construction, George Obeng-Manu was the key driver behind the event – he added: “We are astounded by the amount of support we have received from all of the businesses involved in making this day a success.

“I’m extremely proud of what we have achieved in support of Zoë’s Place and I would particularly like to thank our main sponsors of the day: Alistair Clark - A C Lloyd Homes Ltd, Martin Gallagher - Deeley Construction Ltd, Glyn Pepper - S Midlands Developments Ltd, John Harmon - Seagrave Developments Ltd, Neil Taylor - Squire Patton Boggs and Nick Abell - Wright Hassall Solicitors.”
