A tenant in Bow with a long history of drunken and abusive behaviour towards their neighbours has been evicted.
Ms Jean Norwood, 56, was told to leave her flat in Elton House on the Locton Estate following a spate of complaints by neighbours spanning several years.
The decision to evict Ms Norwood was made at a hearing at Bow Crown Court on 7th February. The judge declined an appeal by Ms Norwood and ruled that her disruptive behaviour had not been curbed by the threat of an imminent eviction.
Working closely with the Police and other local partners Circle Housing Old Ford last year successfully dealt with over 60 incidents of anti social behaviour, including three evictions.
Marvelle Dublin, Neighbourhood Manager for Circle Housing Old Ford, said: "Our residents deserve to live in peaceful and pleasant neighbourhoods, free from the scourge of anti-social behaviour. The case shows that we will take action against those who make life miserable for others. This is all part of our wider remit to build safer, stronger, happier neighbourhoods."
