Around 150 residents were evacuated from a block of flats in Paddington west London early this morning after a fire on the 19th storey.
Thirty-five firefighters attended the blaze at the flats on the Harrow Road. A woman was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
London fire brigade station manager Rod Horton, who was at the scene said: “Our 999 control officers gave fire survival guidance to residents over the phone, telling them how to stay as safe as possible before firefighters arrived.”
The brigade was called at 2.40am and the fire was under control by 3.30am. Firefighters from Paddington, North Kensington and West Hampstead fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
