Burglary reduction packs funded by Aire Valley Homes Leeds
Local residents in south Leeds are now seeing the benefits of crime awareness events held with Aire Valley Homes Leeds and the West Yorkshire Neighbourhood Policing Teams.
Following consultation with local residents about their safety concerns, CASAC (Community Action and Support Against Crime) who work to improve community safety, are installing new high-security locks in over 800 homes in Beeston and Middleton. Multi-storey blocks in Cottingley have received new CCTV systems and more secure door entry systems. This has contributed to south Leeds seeing a reduction of nearly 40% in burglaries.
At a number of local awareness events, hundreds of people have picked up their burglary reduction bags funded by Aire Valley Homes Leeds. The bags contain free home safety equipment. We are hoping that everyone who received a bag has installed their alarms in their homes. The message in the local areas is loud and clear, 'Let’s keep burglars away!'
