Achieving appropriate changing facilities to enable everyone to participate in sport is being simplified with a new raft of Lottery funding together with an innovative package from Total Hygiene.
The latest raft of £50m funding under Sport England’s Places People Play is now released, to enable community sports facilities to be refurbished- specifically including provision of accessible toilets and changing rooms for players and officials.
Total Hygiene, the UK’s leading disabled toileting solutions provider, is the only British company to have, in-house, the expertise, experience and products to cost-effectively and efficiently help design then supply, install, commission, and service, properly-equipped accessible changing rooms and toilet facilities, as detailed under the new Building Regulations Approved Document M.
“Research shows that people make a conscious decision NOT to go somewhere if they believe there are not appropriate facilities for them,” says Robin Tuffley, Total Hygiene marketing manager. “It is therefore vital that, in order to build on the Olympic legacy, we have to address toilet and changing room facilities, so disabled people and able-bodied, can ALL take part in local sports with the right amenities.”
Total Hygiene (www.clos-o-m,at.com) has already delivered accessible personal hygiene facilities at sporting venues as diverse as Manchester’s George Carnall Leisure Centre to Wembley Stadium.
Its range of solutions encompasses simple drop-down grab rails through to fully-equipped hygiene rooms and Changing Places toilets, with shower chairs, changing benches and automatic (wash and dry) toilets.
