Help with rent at Riverside’s Langley office

Riverside is offering advice to help Langley residents cope with the changes to welfare benefits from its office at Lingmell Close, Langley.
The Help with Rent team, set up by local authorities from across Greater Manchester, is holding drop-in sessions every Friday at Riverside’s housing office from 10am until 12 noon.
Sharon Thomas, community initiatives team leader, said: “The sessions are aimed at helping people learn more about the changes to welfare benefits. From April reforms such as the bedroom tax, will result in a reduction in housing benefits for those under-occupying their homes. We are keen to make sure that tenants continue to pay their rent to avoid losing their home. The Help with Rent team will also be offering benefits and budgeting advice to support those struggling to make ends meet.”
Manchester Credit Union surgeries are also held at Riverside’s office in Langley, every Monday, 9.00am – 12.00. Credit unions offer a cost effective way of saving, borrowing and protecting your money.
