Alliance Homes with their Green Business Award
Alliance Homes has won an award for its PV panel project in the Green Business Awards. The award was in the 'Public Sector' category and was awarded in recognition of its support to public bodies by offering easy access to affordable PV packages. The social enterprise also received recognition for its scheme to install panels on 1,200 of its properties as well as on the roofs of its two offices.
The Green Business Awards are supported by ENDS, the leading environmental publishing house and celebrate excellence in green practice, strategy and products. They are the 'Green Globes' and are the UK's most comprehensive awards on the subject.
The PV panel project is providing a host of benefits to Alliance Homes, its residents and other organisations. Residents who have PV panels will see a reduction in their own fuel bills of up to £250 a year and other like-minded companies are keen to pass these kind of savings onto their own clients. So far, 14 organisations have joined the framework.
Anthony Bebbington, Investment and Major Works Manager at Alliance Homes, said: "We are so proud to have been given a Green Business Award as it demonstrates that the work Alliance Homes is doing on energy efficiency is making an impact on a national level."
