B3Living has invested in ‘green technology’ for its residents. These new systems will reduce fuel costs for residents and provide long term energy security.
Simon Walton, Director of Housing at B3Living was concerned at the prospect of increasing energy bills for some of our most vulnerable tenants. He said:
“By installing solar photovoltaic systems across some of our properties we can save residents over £200 a year which, for many, means not having to worry about paying their bills. In addition, we are now greener and we’ve secured an additional income which we can reinvest into our properties and resident services.”
B3Living has installed solar photovoltaic (PV) and monitoring systems across 80 of its properties, saving residents well over £200 a year and providing B3Living with a guaranteed income from the Feed in Tariff. Renewable heating systems have also been installed in 34 properties.
B3Living are currently installing PV systems to a further 50 properties, and looking to expand this out to other properties in the future.
